Memory Palace
Speed cards, the memory-sport event. Memorize a shuffled deck as fast as you can, then put it back in order. The trick is the method of loci: turn each card (or pair, or triple) into a vivid image and leave it at the next stop on a route you know by heart. To recall it, you walk the route again.
How to train
- Give every card a fixed image. A common system is Person–Action–Object: each card has a person, a verb and a thing, so three cards make one scene.
- Pick a route through a place you know well and write its stops below. Each stop holds one group of cards.
- Start small: 13 cards, one per locus. Aim for perfect runs first, then speed.
